The Figure Skating Elite Academy  at Ice Midwest has a team of recreational ice skaters who compete at non-qualifying U.S. Figure Skating "Basic Skills" Competitions within the Midwest Region at the Snow Plow and Basic 1 through Basic 8 Levels and Freeskate Levels 1-6, Low Beginner, High Beginner, Pre-Preliminary and Preliminary U.S. Figure Skating Levels.  Events include solo freeskate programs to music, compulsory moves, artistic and interpretive.

Some skaters on the team may simultaniously represent the Silver Blades FSC (SBFSC) at higher competition levels as the skater makes the "bridge" transition from the "U.S. Basic Skills Program" into officially becoming a "U.S. Figure Skating Full Member" by joining the SBFSC annually on July 1st.

Skaters can also choose to participate and compete in synchronize skating.  Those interested in being on the Sunflower Synchronize Skating Team can inquire by contacting Leah Karchin, head coach for the Sunflower State Synchronize Skating Team.
